Flower Friday: The Sitting Bouquet

07 29 2011

The sitting bouquet, or the picture bouquet, or the portrait bouquet, or the bouquet you use in those pictures you take prior to your wedding … is an important one! For some brides this can be an after thought, or it can be a downgrade from their wedding day bouquet, or sometimes even it may seem not necessary. But the truth is … it’s necessary. I say that because I have seen lots of images of bridal/groomal sessions without a bouquet, and though many of these images produced something of a stunning nature many more feel as though something is missing! It’s that finishing detail, often times much needed color, and the right thing to do with your hands! A few to inspire you …

Here we have a stunning bridal bouquet made by Melissa @ Blossom Sweet. A sweet ensemble it is. What would this image be without it? Photographed by Mikki Platt

In thinking about bridal bouquets for this post I opted to dig into my own archives {studio stems} for one of my fav’s that likely would have been stunning without the bouquet, but then would it? The bouquet seems like the perfect accessory here. Photography by Dustin Izatt

This delightful gem was created by Heather Telford and photographed by Lindsey Orton

This bouquet pays tribute to a bride with some serious floral talent of her own and some adventurous nature to do a shape out of the ordinary! Paid off! Photographed by Elizabeth Taylor Frandsen

And last but not least some powerful color inspiration from another UBB preferred florist, Andi Saxton.

If a bridal or groomal shoot is in your wedding future don’t forget a bouquet!
